Like a carefully etched tattoo,
With every rejection, every hurt, every pain,
Inserts a permanent truth
that will remain
In my heart
I know now,
I know.
It is evident now
I know.

(Pause)

I know it.
I have to learn it
And it hurts, yes
But these hurts teach, and these lessons will show

With every rejection, I will have to turn that pain into a lesson:
That what is for me will never miss me
With every rejection, I learn that I  ought to be held, appreciated.

These rejects teach me
They make me ask questions
