Through the pain, something beautiful seems to emerge
Maybe it just might be worth it.
Your words,
And slight remarks,
Your actions,
They say alot
And they try to convince me that this pain means that I should cover up.
But all that I am, and all that I am able to be
Is who I am,
I can't change it.
Not for you, or even for me
With every no and forgotten thought,
Your pain made me see
The truth.
With each sting, I learned
And it cut deep
But the seeds of the lessons I learned went deep too
You wont merely convince me anymore, of who I am not
Because this tattoo etched into my skin says that I am worth much more.
"Pain and poison, forcefully making its way into Your skin
Seemingly to destroy
But paints a beautiful picture when the process is done.
After a while,
The pain is gone
And who you are overrides what came to hurt you,
harm you,
break you,
or kill you."
