I probably should have posted this about a week ago, but better late than never ^_^

"Project SheIS" is about Redefinition
We tend to subconsciously wrap our identity and worth around:

  • Our experiences with others: how they treat us and what they say about us
  • Our own prideful thoughts: whether it be thinking too highly of ourselves, or belittling ourselves
  • Society on the whole: that is media/culture, and what their concept of beauty is, or their concept of self worth

At the end of the day, these things are not constant. They change all the time and vary from person to person, and from time to time. Some of them are lies. Some are lies entangled with truth, and honestly, it's just really complicated and confusing. It is unstable, and certainly not a good foundation to lay our identity upon. This world has shaped our minds in such a way that, most of us subconsciously have an idea of beauty which disregards anything that is different or contrary to it.
But, the thing is, God made creation perfect in its vast differences. You and me, we are part of that creation. When God made man in His image on the 6th day, He looked over what He did and saw that it was very good and He approved it. The Bible describes God's love for His creation, and we cannot wrap our minds around it. Much less, the idea that we are declared His prized possessions, placed even above the angels when we have His Holy Spirit within us. That's absurd right? Like, how? And, why? That's a question that has been asked to God for centuries and centuries, and we cannot fathom it.
The thing about the God of the Bible is that, He doesn't change. His thoughts towards us remain the same. And so, I think its a pretty stable ground to place our worth upon. I believe that if one knows who they really are, they have a respect for themselves, they have standards, they are careful with their surroundings, because they understand that these things really have an impact on their lives.
Understanding our worth branches out into all areas of our lives. Our love life, friendships, family, the way we carry ourselves etc. Life on the whole. But we much first have a thorough understanding of who God is, and who He says we are.

"It is not easy. It is a mindset. It's going against the tide. Embracing difference. Embracing beauty- inside and out. Embracing You.
    Who is She?
    She is..."
