Something I've realized is that,  one of the hardest things to do is to be honest with yourself and your convictions.

Sometimes we keep ourselves in denial. Pretend like certain things don't trigger something in us that should be dealt with. We ignore it. I understand though. Sometimes there are parts of us that are a little scary, and we don't want to deal with it. Insecurities, weaknesses. But ignoring it, won't make it disappear.

"Sometimes the only way we can get to the other side of fear, is by facing it."

And sometimes, that is what holds us back.
Holds us back from living in peace with others.
Holds us back from having peace within ourselves.
Holds us back from having peace with God.

Here's a way to make it easier:
  • Tell God- I promise, He is not judging. [Read the story of the Woman at the Well or The Adulterous Woman] You'll realize Jesus' character and how understanding, loving and non-judgmental He is. Express your deepest thoughts to Him. What you are uncomfortable with. What you're scared of. What makes you mad. What makes you want to sin. Trust me, He's the best listener.
  • Ask Him for help- What even better, is the fact that He can bring healing to a broken heart, and silence our loudest thoughts.
"It's okay if you're in a storm. The waves and wind still know His name..."
